Quartz Creek Lodge is located on Kodiak Island's west side, perched on five coastal acres of private land in the heart of the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge.
The vast waters of Uganik Bay set the perfect stage for a remote Alaskan experience. We appeal to adventurous people who are inquisitive and seeking new experiences.
If you have the desire to step away from the busy-ness of life and experience a taste of nature in it’s most natural form … a place where you can stand on a riverbank surrounded by lush vegetation and wildflowers while watching large schools salmon swim past, where silence is broken only by the call of an eagle, the blow of a whale or the breath you catch as you see your first brown bear … then this is the place for you.

Good topics to ask prospective lodges (if they seem important to you!):

Access from Kodiak How do you get to the lodge? By scheduled flight, chartered floatplane or boat? Is price included? Are there alternatives ways if the weather is an issue?

Cabin Heat Wood, kerosene or propane? Are you handy with a wood fire?

Indoor or Outdoor Plumbing You might laugh, but not all lodges have running water, toilets or showers

Electricity Do they have electricity?

Meals It might be a $500 flight to the grocery to get your favorite salad dressing -- so make sure to let them know well in advance if you have dietary needs or desires!

Communication RELAX! Chances are that you cell phone WILL NOT work. Is there intenet or phone available at the lodge?

Most Kodiak area wilderness lodges are Family Owned & Operated
